ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Since the first competition in 1984, the Roux Scholarship has enabled a new generation of chefs from Britain to train in the greatest restaurants in the world. Not only has it become the industry’s most acclaimed chef competition in the UK – with many scholars going on to win Michelin stars themselves – it ranks among the most prestigious competitions for chefs worldwide.

Lounge Design created a suite of elegant collateral to enhance every touchpoint of the awards, including:
- Awards Invitations: Setting the tone for a remarkable occasion for guests from the first impression.
- Winners’ & Finalists’ Certificates: The chance for chefs to frame their achievement in a beautifully crafted keepsake.
- Programme for the Evening: Guiding guests through each inspiring moment with a cohesive, visually rich guide.
- Media report and year review: Annual review of the event to share with sponsors.
After the awards, we were invited to work on something truly special:
Destination Books
As well as the annual competition, The Roux Scholarship provides learning journeys for its winners and we produced two visual books that captured the magic of the Roux Scholars’ cultural and culinary journeys to Sweden and Mexico. Working closely with professional photography by Jodi Hands and seamless project management from Communications Manager Carolyn Boyd, we brought creativity and precision to every page, celebrating unforgettable moments, culinary exploration, and the invaluable support of sponsors.
THE IMPACT
The awards collateral elevated the event, earning praise for its clarity, quality, and design. The destination books are a cherished record, inspiring new generations of Scholars, sponsors, and chefs by encapsulating the dedication and camaraderie of the Roux Scholarship community.
